- My name is Kara Akins. I was married at age 18 to Mr. Jack Stephen Akins III. He's as adorable as his name sounds. We now have six children ages: 9,11,13,16,17 and 19. Our 7th child is my precious niece who lives with us. She is a 21 year old college student. We have one boy in the bunch and he is spoiled rotten by EVERYONE. I love being a mom. Someone having your name is an honor. Where did you get your name from? I named Paris after the most beautiful little girl. That little girl, who is much older now, will always have a special place in my heart. Having someone's name (and we all have someone's name) carries a huge responsibility b/c we want to make that person proud. You want them to WANT to someday say, "She was named after me!" You never know how God is going to use someone. We don't always realize the honor God gives us by placing others in our lives. He always has a purpose and a plan.
